Mathematical Gesture of the Blind Students in the Calculate Operation of the Buner Learning Theory

Wahidin, Wahidin

Gesture is very closely related in everyday life, especially in the field of education. This study was applied to a blind
person who is in blind type by applying Bruner’s theory of learning in a counting operation. Based on this study, the
gesture that emerged during the application of Buner learning theory was 85 times. It consists of 43 iconic gestures, 22 metaphoric gestures, and 20 times of an all-time gestures. With the percentage of iconic gesture emergence of 50.5%; Metaphorical gesture of 25.9%; and an in-23.6% gesture. At the imposition of the Buner’s theory of learning can be the dominant kinaesthetic intellect among them storytelling, storytelling, singing, and Murotal.

The Prediction of Pharmacokinetic Properties of Compounds in Hemigraphis alternata (Burm.F.) T. Ander Leaves Using pkCSM

Yeni, Yeni

The inflammatory process aids in healing and maintains the body’s balance. Untreated acute inflammation can cause organ disease, which can lead to a chronic inflammatory phenotype. Hemigraphis alternata is a plant that has anti-inflammatory activity. The compounds contained in H. alternata leaves have been predicted to have an affinity for receptors involved in the inflammatory process. A large number of drug candidates were withdrawn from preclinical trials due to their poor pharmacokinetic profiles. Drug compounds must cross the barriers that exist in the body to reach their biological targets so that they can generate a biological effect. The pharmacokinetic features of 22 components in H. alternata leaves were predicted in order to search for inflammatory medication candidates with suitable pharmacokinetic profiles. The pkCSM, a strategy for predicting and optimizing the pharmacokinetic properties of small molecules based on distance-based graph signatures was used in this work. The pkCSM employed 20 predictors separated into four groups: absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion. Based on the prediction findings, there are five substances with the best pharmacokinetic features, 8a-methyl-3,4,4a,5,6,7-hexahydro-2H-naphthalene-1,8-dione, (E)-3,7,11,15-tetramethylhexadec-2-en-1-ol, 2-methylenecholestan-3-ol, 5-(hydroxymethyl) furan-2-carbaldehyde and 2,3-dihydro-2,5-dimethyl-5H-1,4-dioxepin.

The development of mathematics higher order thinking skills
instrument for grade VIII junior high school

Wahidin, Wahidin

21st-century learning activities require higher order thinking skills including critical and creative thinking. High-level mathematical thinking skills are tools to train and improve higher order thinking skills in mathematics. This study aimed to produce products in the form of a high level mathematical thinking skills instrument of grade VIII based on Bloom’s Taxonomy containing C4 (Analyze), C5 (Evaluate), and C6 (Creating) questions. Indicators of higher order thinking include analyzing, organizing, differentiating, and linking. Evaluating is judging, checking and criticizing. While creating is generalizing, designing, and producing. This research was conducted at three junior high schools in Jakarta that consisted of 41, 36 and 36 students respectively. The sample of this research was grade VIII students. The study was conducted during the even semester in 2017. Data collection method used higher order thinking skill test of the eight grade students then analyzed data with the calculation of validity, reliability, difficulty level, and discrimination power. The result showed that the instrument was valid, reliable, the difficulty level was moderate, and the discrimination power was moderate so the problems in this instrument could be used by teachers to measure students’ high order thinking skills.

Implementation of moodle platform to acquire the students’ knowledge and science process skills

IRDALISA, IRDALISA

Teachers are demanded to design learning tools to develop students’ learning motivation. Limited and monotonous learning models or tools have been a common reason for students’ lack of interest in learning. This study aims at describing the benefits of learning tools, especially the Teacher’s Guidebook and Students’ Worksheets developed through the Moodle platform. Both were used to support the learning activities to acquire the knowledge dimensions and Science Process Skills in the excretory system concepts. This study employed a one-group pretest-posttest design. The population of this research was the eleventh-grade students. It involved 102 students taken by the purposive sampling technique. The research instrument employed tests and observation sheets. Data analysis used paired sample t-test and quantitative descriptive. The results showed that the student learning activities using the developed worksheet in the Moodle platform could be categorised as “very active”. The acquisition of students’ knowledge dimensions increased after using the developed Teacher’s Guidebook and Students’ Worksheets or in the medium category. It also significantly improves the students’ science process skills in the learning process. The improvement occurs in every aspect of science process skills, including observing, classifying, predicting, inferencing, hypothesising, interpreting data, planning experiments, and communicating.

Mastery of STEM-Based Research Approach of Science Teachers in Jakarta

http://repository.uhamka.ac.id/id/eprint/17251/

Mastery of STEM-Based Research Approach of Science Teachers in Jakarta

IRDALISA, IRDALISA

The STEM approach is the right innovation developed at this time to improve the quality of science learning according to the needs of students in 21st century. The purpose of this study was to identify the mastery of STEM-based research approach of science teachers in Jakarta. The research subjects were elementary, middle and high school teachers in DKI Jakata, totaling 40 teachers. Sampling is done by purposive sampling technique. Technique and instrument for collecting data on mastery of STEM-based research approach of science teachers using multiple choice test. Data analysis using t-test using SPSS 20. The results showed that the value of sig (2-tailed) mastery of STEM-based research approach of science teachers (posttest) < 0.05. It can be concluded that there is a difference in the average of the mastery of STEM-based research approach of science teachers of the experimental class and control class. The recommendation of this research is that in this era of digitalization and global competition, teachers are required to use a learning approach that encourages students to understand science, technology, experimentation and work so that the STEM approach needs to be applied in learning. http://repository.uhamka.ac.id/id/eprint/17251/1/2418-14110-1-PB.pdf Unduh!

Student (Prospective Mathematics Teacher) Perception of Cheating Reviewed by Multiple Intelligence, Mathematical Resilience and Grade Point Average (GPA)

Wahidin, Wahidin

This study aims to examine perceptions of prospective mathematics teacher (students) on cheating based on multiple intelegence, mathematical resilience and GPA. The sample of this study was conducted on 30 students at third semester in Faculty of Education and Teacher Training (FKIP), University of Muhammadiyah Prof.DR.Hamka (UHAMKA). This research used qualitative method which applied case study and phenomenology. The results of this research illustrates that students’ cheating perception in high-medium-low category are at moderate level of multiple intelligences, mathematical resilience and GPA. There are eight reasons why student cheats, 10 ways that someone does cheating and 11 attempts to overcome cheating.
